History

The East Logan Water District was started in 1979 with approximately 70 miles of line, one 200,000 gallon tank, and one booster pump station and served around 500 people. We purchased all of our water from the City of Russellville.

As of 1991, the East Logan Water District had grown, serving and maintaining approximately 200 miles of waterline ranging from 8" to 2". It purchased a new 220,000 gallon storage tank and a new booster pump station in addition to the other that is listed above. It served approximately 1350 customers in 1991.

The Water District's main goal is to service all parts north and south in East Logan County and give them a safe drinking water supply.

In 2003, the District started purchasing water from the Logan Todd Regional Water Commission. It has the most modern treatment equipment available and an abundant supply of water.

As of 2005, the East Logan Water District had approximately 250 miles of waterline ranging from 8" to 3". The District had 3 storage tanks and served approximately 2619 customers.

In 2008, the District has approximately 290 miles of waterline ranging from 8" to 3". We have 3 storage tanks, have just installed a booster pump station, and serve approximately 2846 customers. We are in the process of making potable water available to every customer in our service area. We are proud of the progress we have made over the years and look forward to many more service years to come.
